The State Revenue Sharing program distributes sales tax collected by the State of Michigan to local governments
as unrestricted revenues. In accordance with the State Constitution of 1963, Article IX, Section 10, as amended, constitutional
revenue sharing payments are based on 15% of the 4% portion of Michigan’s 6% sales tax collections. During 2011, the
Michigan Legislature changed the name of “Statutory Revenue Sharing” to the Economic Vitality Incentive Program (EVIP)
and changed it again during 2015 to City, Village, Township Revenue Sharing (CVTRS).
